I am a huge breakfast person. This French Toast Skillet is one of my new favorite recipes. It’s sweet, fruity, somewhat-healthy, easy, and takes all of 15 minutes in the oven!
Side note: you know how I love a good one pot meal? Well, this French Toast Skillet is one pot except substitute your cast iron!
Breakfast might even be my love language. I love all things cinnamon, sweet, savory, cheesy, fruity – you name it – if it has to do with breakfast… I’m a fan. But what drives me more crazy than anything is having to wait on breakfast. I want breakfast quick and easy and fast. This French Toast Skillet is just that!
Even a great recipe for a Mother’s Day brunch or Birthday in Bed!
This recipe is super easy – like maybe the easiest.
Throw a package of frozen berries in the bottom of your cast iron, topped with 1 tbsp flour, sprinkled with brown sugar and cinnamon. It will not look completely full – but trust me you don’t want the fruit overpowering the tastiness of the french toast.
Make your french toast next. Dip it in a mixture of egg, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and secret ingredient: Maple Syrup! Place the pieces of bread on top of the fruit and then bake at 400 for 15 minutes! viola!
